This covers the Gomoku Dojo app for iPhone and iPad and this website, gomokle.com.

In short

There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Your games, progress and settings stay on your device. The app only sends game results to us if you turn on Share anonymous game results, and that setting starts off.

Share anonymous game results

You find this switch in the app under Setup, in Options. While it is on, the app sends a short record of each finished game to our server. We use these records to see how hard each level really is and to tune the computer opponents.

A record holds:

• the moves, the board size, the level, and whether you played the computer or a friend
• which colour you played and who won
• when the game started and how long it took
• how often you used undo and hints
• the app version, and whether you have the Dojo Pass or which free limit you reached last
• a random ID the app makes the first time it sends a game, so games from the same install can be counted together

The record has no name, email, Apple ID, location or device ID, and the random ID is not tied to any of those. Our server uses your IP address to turn away floods of requests. It keeps only a scrambled (hashed) form of it for that, never next to your games.

Turn the switch off and nothing more is sent. Because the records don’t say who you are, we can’t pick out and delete yours afterwards.

Game Center

Achievements, leaderboards and online games go through Apple’s Game Center when you are signed in to it. Apple handles that data under its own privacy policy. Other players see your Game Center name and scores, as in any Game Center game. We see the same leaderboards everyone sees.

Buying the Dojo Pass

The Dojo Pass is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple takes the payment. We never see your payment details or your Apple ID. The app only asks the App Store whether the purchase exists.

This website

gomokle.com has no ads, analytics or tracking cookies. Your puzzle progress and streak are saved in your own browser. If you pick a language, a small cookie remembers it. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when it sends them. Like every website, our server needs your IP address to send you the page.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. It asks nobody for personal information, children included.
